Arrest warrant issued on Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera

Colombo Fort Magistrate has issued an arrest warrant for Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera today following his absence in a court case. The cases pertaining to Gnanasara Thera's alleged defamatory comments on the Quran and on his alleged obstruction of a press conference of the Jathika Bala Sena (JBS)were taken up for hearing today.

Meanwhile, the Colombo Crimes Division told the court that it was yet to receive the report on the video footage of the JBS press conference. The footage has been sent to the Moratuwa University for analysis.

The two cases will be fixed for hearing on November 9.
