Indian national Mersalin Gomez who was arrested over the alleged assasination plot of President Sirisena and former defence scretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has given a special statement before the Fort Magistrate's Court today (Oct 23).
Mr. Gomez in his statement said that there was a danger of a threat to his life while in custody of the CID.
Accordingly, Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had asked the suspect to provide the statement in writing.
