Former Deputy minister of Tourism and Christian Affairs Arundika Fernando today crossed over to the Joint opposition Group (JO) side in Parliament after making a statement in which he vowed to work to topple the government.
He was warmly received by the JO MPs including former President Mahinda Rajapaksa while the majority of Government members walked out when Mr. Fernando got up to speak.
The Puttlam district lawmaker was sacked by President Maithripala Sirisena last week following public comments he had made criticizing the manner in which the yahapalanaya government functions.
