Attention is being focused towards economically profitable power generation projects in a bid to provide continous power generation without any shortages in the future, the Power and Energy Ministry said in a statement.
A discussion was held at the Power and Energy Ministry under the patronage of Minister Mahinda Amaraweera.
Accordingly steps are bing taken to inform President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of the shortcomings in the national power sector, the statement said adding that discussions would be held regarding future development projects and short-term and long term solutions that could be taken.
Further the Ministry said it aims to draw attention towards obtaining government approval for power generation projects that could be implemented immediately.
