The Australian Border Force (ABF) has dispatched the largest ship in its fleet to Sri Lanka and India in a bid to enhance co-operation and improve capabilities of maritime security agencies in the region, Jane's 360 reported.
The vessel, Australian Border Force Cutter (ABFC) Ocean Shield , made the visit to both countries during the week of 19 May. It was the first-ever visit by an ABF vessel to Sri Lanka and India, the service said in a statement on the deployment.
" Ocean Shield 's visit was an important opportunity to strengthen co-operation and support our common goal of ensuring safety and security across our maritime domains," said the service.
