The Galle Chief Magistrate yesterday allowed Palitha Piyasiri Fernando, Director of Avant Garde, to travel overseas for a period of seven days. His passport was impounded previously in connection with the floating armory case, operated by the private security firm. The Magistrate made the order following a request made by the Director of the company. He made the request stating he had to travel abroad for an athletics event in the Asian region. He was ordered by the Magistrate ordered him to file a motion after June 6, confirming his return.
