Three of the four suspects arrested in connection with the Avant-Garde floating armory case were ordered to be remanded until August 2 by Galle Chief Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela.
Accordingly, the remanded suspects included retired Major General Palitha Fernando, Karunaratne Bandara Adhikarai, and former 'Rakna Lanka' chairman Victor Samaraweera.
Meanwhile, the CID informed court regarding the arrest of the National Police Commission, Secretary, Saman Dissanayake yesterday (July 18) while receiving treatment at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital.
Thereafter, the Magistrate ordered that a medical report be submitted on Mr. Dissanayake to court.
