As panic over COVID-19 spreads through the country, Ayurvedic shops are reporting a severe shortage of the ayurvedic medicine "Perumkayam."
For generations, locals have used "Perumkayam" as a means to defend against infections, with parents often tying a piece of Perumkayam around the hands of their children.
With the number of COVID-19 patients continuing to rise, many people were seen flocking to ayurvedic shops around the country seeking to purchase Perumkayam. However, most shops have now completely run out of stocks. Some have even taken to displaying signs noting that they don't have the medicine with them as so many people come to shops looking for it.
