Representatives from the Federation of Kattankudy Mosques and Muslim Institutions and All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) are scheduled to appear on June 11 before the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) appointed to look into the Easter Sunday attacks, Acting Chair Dr Jayampathay Wickremaratne announced.
Former Governor of Western province Azath Salley who resigned from his post recently is also expected to testify before the Committee on the same day.
Previously ACJU and many other Muslim civil society groups claimed that in the past they alerted senior government officials over the activity of Islamic fundamentalist groups that were operating in various parts of the country, however, they alleged that no proper investigations were launched.
