Update : The Chairman of the Baddegama Pradeshiya Sabha who had been arrested over an assault has been granted bail by the Baddegama Magistrate today (Sept 17).
The Magistrate had ordered the accused identified as Anura Narangoda, to be released on a cash bail of Rs 25,000 and two surety bails worth Rs 25,000 each.
Naranagoda was arrested after a complaint had been filed with the Police claiming that he had assaulted and threatened an individual during a wedding on September 12.

The Baddegama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Anura Narangoda has been arrested by the Wanduramba Police.
The arrest was related to a complaint lodged with the Police that the latter had assaulted and threatened an individual during a wedding celebration which took place on September 12.
The 58 year old suspect is due to be produced before the Baddegama Magistrate's Court today (Sept 17).
