His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met with the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr A. Saj U. Mendis, at Gudaibiya Palace.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness welcomed the steady growth of ties between Bahrain and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka across a range of areas.
His Royal Highness also noted that continuing to strengthen bilateral relations with Sri Lanka underlines the Kingdom’s commitment to further enhancing trade relations and cultural exchange with South Asian countries. His Royal Highness added that on-going bilateral visits between Bahrain and South Asian countries plays an important role in bolstering all levels of bilateral relations.
His Royal Highness then welcomed the newly appointed Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Kingdom, and wished him every success in his new diplomatic assignment.
In response, the Sri Lankan Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and emphasised Sri Lanka’s commitment to further strengthening ties with the Kingdom. (Bahrain News Agency)
