Bangladesh Naval Ship Somudra Avijan arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill visit yesterday Oct 23.
The Defence Attaché at the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka, Commodore S Aslam Parvez was present on the occasion.
The Commanding Officer of the ship, Commander M Moniruzzaman called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle at the Western Naval Command Headquarters. Mementoes were also exchanged at the conclusion of the cordial discussion held, the government news portal reported.
The ship’s crew is scheduled to take part in a number of friendly sports events and other programs organized by the Sri Lanka Navy during their 4-day official visit to Sri Lanka.
BNS Somudra Avijan is due to leave on October 26.
