Employees at the Bandaranaike International Airport claim that duty free shops at the airport are purchasing liquor for a lower price and selling it for a higher value during this Avurudu season.
It is reported that certain employees representing various departments of the airport are engaging in this illegal trade along with state sector employees.
Further, reports quoting BIA employees claim these liquor bottles are also being distributed across liquor stores situated in the rural areas of the country.
