With effect from Friday April 7, passengers need to report to airport three hours ahead of their flight, returning to the old schedule, compared to five hours in the past three months, Sri Lankan airport authorities say.
The Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), partially closed from January 6 to April 6 for runway repairs, will resume full operations by Friday. Owing to possible congestion, passengers were asked to report to the airport five hours in advance during the 3-month partial (8.30 am to 4.30 pm) closure.
SriLankan Airlines said it will resume normal operations throughout its global route network from Friday, and added: “SriLankan wishes to express its gratitude to all its stakeholders for their patience and assistance during this period, especially its valued customers, all of the airline’s staff who worked tirelessly to limit the inconvenience to passengers, and its partner organisations at BIA.” – ENDS -
