A body was found at the Buddhist temple in Neeraviyadi, Mullaithivu yesterday, Police said. The deceased was identified as 47 years old Gamage Nimal Karunaratna of Janakapura who was working at the temple.
Initial police investigations revealed that the deceased went to sleep last Sunday and failed to turn up the next day. Police recovered the body yesterday from Nayaru Kurukanda Rajamaha Vihara premises and following the Magisterial inquiry, the body is to be subjected to judicial medical examination as the family of the deceased requested. Mullaithivu Police is carrying out further investigation.
