3D printed body parts will be introduced for the first time this year, Health Minister (Dr) Rajitha Senaratne told Times Online.
This initiative would firstly be implemented at the Colombo General Hospital, he said noting that this service would be provided free-of-charge to the patients.
Accordingly, those in need of prosthetic body parts will be able to print a customised organ that would suit the requirements of the patient.
Further, patients who are set to undergo plastic surgeries will also benefit from this inititaive, the Health Minister stressed.
