A Bolivian national was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with five kilograms of cocaine worth Rs 75 million today (Mar 05).
The suspect, a 60-year old had travelled across Brazil, Ethiopia and then to India before he had arrived in Sri Lanka.
Customs officials arrested the suspect at around 3:45 pm and had found the narcotic to have been concealed within pieces of rubber inside his suitcase and hand luggage.
The suspect will be handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau following investigations that are being carried out at the BIA by customs officials.
