A Brazilian national has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Negombo High Court after being convicted of a narcotic related offence yesterday (Oct 15).
Customs officials had nabbed the suspect at the Bandaranaike International Airport last year while attempting to smuggle 690 grams of cocaine into the country.
Police said that investigations into the case had been carried out by the Police Naroctics Bureau.
