The All Island Bakery Owners Association has decided to increase the price of bread by four rupees from midnight today, president of the association announced today.
It is also expected that prices of bakery products too would be increased. Earlier the Association reduced the price of a 450 gm loaf of bread to Rs.54 from Rs.55 soon after the government decided not to implement the amendments proposed to the Value-Added Tax (VAT) and Nation Building Tax (NBT) in the 2016 Budget in January.
