The production tax of vehicles have been increased in line with this year's annual budget which was put forward by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera today (Mar 05).
Accordingly, the latest tax rates are as follows ;
Proposals were also put forward to increase the production tax on hybrid vehicles as follows:
Further, the production tax on 70 KV electric cars was suggested to be increased by Rs 175,000 while the tax on three-wheelers with an engine capacity less than 200cc is to be increased by Rs 60,000.
