A bus conductor has died after being attacked in Kelaniya yesterday (Aug 24), police said.
Investigations have shown that the victim had been attacked using a wooden pole at a bus stand in the area.
Chaminda Kumara, 40, had been pronounced dead upon admission to the Mulleriyawa hospital, police added.
An operation is underway to locate and apprehend the suspect involved in the killing.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
