The cabinet of ministers has granted approval for the expansion of SriLankan Catering Ltd at an estimated cost of Rs 250 million.
Submitting a cabinet proposal, Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera pointed out that the expansion is expected to allow SriLankan to prepare 40,000 meals per day.
He had stated that a land slot spanning 150 perches would be purchased adjacent to the SriLankan Catering Ltd building in Katunayake in a bid to enhance the catering service.
The project is expected to take place in line with the expansion of the Bandaranaike International Airport.
