The cabinet of ministers has granted approval to increase the wages of estate workers by Rs 50.
This was following a proposal put forward by Plantation Industries Minister Navin Dissanayake during yesterday's cabinet meeting.
Accordingly, the government has decided to allocate Rs 1.2 billion in order to implement the increase in wages.
