Following objections by Governors of certain provinces regarding cabinet approval to appoint school inspectors for national schools only, a proposal has now been approved for both provincial and national schools.
According to Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, a cabinet paper had been re-submitted to make these appointments of school inspectors to provincial schools as well.
Accordingly, 100 School Inspectors would be deployed for this purpose in due course, the Minister noted. He added that these inspectors would be required to supervise academic activities in all government schools.
