His Eminence Cardinal Malcom Ranjith has urged the people of all faiths to remain patient and calm in a similar way to that in the aftermath of the terror attacks.
Commenting on yesterday's incident which sparked tense scenes in Meegamuwa, the Cardinal said that certain issues which prevailed while controlling the situation had been brought before his attention.
"We urge the relevant parties to prevent this incident from aggravating into a dangerous situation," the Archbishop of Colombo said in a special statement.
He explained that an argument between two individuals had escalated into a brawl between two groups last evening. Accordingly, the Cardinal noted that it is the duty of the people to safeguard peace at all times.
