The case pertaining to the misappropriation of approximately Rs 200 million from the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA) will be heard before the Colombo High Court on January 29.
The case which was supposed to be heard today (Jan 11) was postponed since High Court judge Vikum Kaluarachchi had informed court that he would resign from the judge bench due to personal reasons.
Accordingly, High Court judge Pradeep Hettiarachchi will summon the case that has been filed against former parliamentarian Tiran Alles and three others for illegally providing former LTTEer Emil Kanthan with Rs 200 million belonging to the RADA.
The High Court had previously issued an order to proceed with the case in the absence of Mr. Kanthan, who is also a suspect in the case.
The case was filed by the Attorney General against former MP Alles, former LTTEer Emil Kanthan, former CEO of RADA Saliya Wickramasuriya and Jayantha Dias.
