Further hearing of the case against the Secututes and Exchange Commission's former chief Nalaka Godahewa and several others over alleged misappropriation of Rs 5 million has been fixed for February 5.
Colombo High Court Judge Shashi Mahendran, during today's hearing, granted permission for Mr Godahewa to travel overseas.
Former SEC Deputy Director Dhammika Perera and former sports director of the Tharunayata Hetak movement Ronnie Ibrahim are also defendants in the case.
They face charges under the Public Property Act.
The Attorney General's Department prosecuting the case, said the suspects had misused SEC funds for a programme of the Tharunayata Hetak movement, by depositing Rs 5 million in an account of Premium Sports Ltd.
