The case filed against businessman Shanil Neththikumara for threatening the sibling of a witness who gave evidence against Minister Ravi Karunanayake over the bond scam has been fixed for September 9.
Indictments were filed against Neththikumara at the High Court for allegedly threatening the brother of Anika Wijesuriya who gave witness against the minister at the presidential commission which probed the central bank bond scam.
High Court judge Shashi Mahendran today (Aug 22) issued summons on the three witnesses in the case to appear before court during the next hearing.
Neththikumara had been released on a cash bail of Rs 50,000 and two surety bails of Rs 500,000 each when the Attorney General had filed charges against the accused last month.
