The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) is awaiting copies of CDs of telephone conversations between former State Minister Ranjan Ramanayaka and other parties to open investigations, a senior official of the CCD said.
OIC of the CCD Neville Silva said that they are expecting the copies this week from the Government Analyst Department.
Earlier the copies were due to be sent to the CID, but in view of certain officials of the CID being implicated a decision has been taken to send the CDs to the CCD.
Meanwhile popular social media presenter Ashen Senaratne has been questioned by the police as to how he came into possession of the recordings of Ranjan Ramanayaka phone conversations to be posted by him.
Earlier the Police denied that it had leaked from the Police after they took the CD's into custody.
