The foundation laying ceremony for the Department of Registrations of Persons office in the Central Province was held in Nuwara Eliya today (Jul 15).
Construction is expected to be completed within a year, the Internal and Home Affairs Ministry noted in a statement adding that it would be constructed at a cost of Rs 154.4 million.
Plantation Industries Minister Navin Dissanayake laid the foundation stone for the building.
