The chief suspect behind the recent Piliyandala shooting incident has been arrested in Weligama last night.
Officers attached to the Mirihana Police Special Investigations Unit had made the arrest at around 11 pm yesterday (Mar 21).
Investigations had revealed that the suspect had contracted two individiuals to carry out the shooting that resulted in the death of two people.
The suspect, a 32-year old woman will be produced before the Moratuwa courts today.
A search operation is currently underway to apprehend the two individuals who had undertaken the contract to carry out the shooting.
