Chilaw PS member arrested after attempting to stab wife
A Chilaw Pradeshiya Sabha member who attempted to stab his wife who was on duty at the Chilaw General Hospital was arrested today (Oct 21), police said.
Security officers had intervened and prevented the man from stabbing his wife when an argument had broken out between the couple this afternoon.
The suspect had then been handed over to the Chilaw police station for further investigations.
Investigations have shown that the wife had previously filed a complaint at the Madampe Police, stating that he had been always quarreling with her.
