The Chinese government gifted three portable x-ray machines and five walk through metal detectors worth about Rs 60 million to the Parliament yesterday in order to ensure the security of the Parliament aftermath of Easter Sunday attacks.
The equipments were handed over by Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Cheng Xueyuan on behalf of the Chinese government, to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya yesterday.
The urgently needed security equipment provided by China will secure the safety of the Parliament and MPs.
