China-based Dongfang Electric Corporation has won the bid to supply containers required in the Aruwakkalu Sanitary Landfill project.
These containers would be used to transport solid urban waste from Kelaniya to Aruwakkalu, a cabinet proposal said.
The decision to handover the tender to the Chinese-based company was taken up by the cabinet procurement committee.
A proposal in this regard had been submitted to cabinet by Megapolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka.
