A special team of CID officials have been dispatched to conduct investigations into the death of two policemen in Vavunathivu, Batticaloa.
Earlier today IGP Pujitha Jayasundera had ordered that the investigation be handed over to the CID.
Meanwhile, UNP MP Nalin Bandara speaking in Parliament said that the policemen had been after they were shot using a T-56 weapon.
He also urged that a probe be carried out in order to determine whether the tweet posted by Karuna Amman on November 27 had any connection with the incident.
I think some unp people try to scare me. Many people message me and call me. Please remember i am karuna amman from batti. Maybe you ask other people who karuna amman before 2004.
