Former Governor M L A M Hizbullah today (Aug 6) claimed that he has been cleared of all charges levelled against him.
He made these remarks while addressing reporters in front of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) headquarters in Colombo.
Hizbullah, who is the founder of the controversial Batticaloa Campus, said the educational facility is expected to be opened by January. However, he stated that a final decision is yet to be taken in this regard.
The former governor said that investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) have proven that the allegations levelled against him were false.
