The prices of all brands of cigarettes have been increased by Rs 5 per stick from midnight last night due to the Excise tax increased up to Rs.3.80,, the Finance Ministry said.
In keeping up with the increased excise duty, the price of a Rs. 50 cigarette will go up to Rs. 55 and a Rs. 55 cigarette will go up to Rs. 60.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today warned that Ceylon Electricity Board Employees would have to make a choice in the next two months.
