The Immigration Department has rejected claims that a large number of Sri Lankan expatriates have returned for this week's Presidential election.
A senior official at the Department noted that only 40,362 individuals including both dual and single citizenship holders had returned by November 11.
Immigration Department statistics show that there has only been an increase of around 1300 persons who had returned when compared to the first half of November last year.
