All co-operative sales outlets (Samupakara) have been instructed to reopen as soon as the curfew is lifted in order to provide essential food items to the people.
Commissioner of Co-operative Development S.A. Singappuli stated that if any co-operative sales outlet has a shortage of essential food items, they are instructed to coordinate with the commissioner of co-operative development in their province and contact the local Market Federation to obtain sufficient stocks.
He stressed that the Market Federation had sufficient essential food items to supply co-operative sales outlets.
