A fire had broken out at a coir factory in Embilipitiya yesterday (Jun 12), police said.
Police noted that no casualties had been reported due to the incident.
The fire service of Tangalle Urban Council had doused the fire with the assistance of the police, army, the employees at the coir factory and area residents.
However, the cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
Further investigations continue.
