The reclamation of land for the first phase of the Colombo Port City project concluded today (Jan 16), the Minister of Western Development and Megapolis said.
Accordingly, buildings and other constructions will be put up in the area spanning 269 hecaters as the second phase of the project.
The economic zone of the city is to be initially completed following which the remaining construction activities will take place.
The entire construction of the port city is expected to be completed within 25 years.
