Sabaragamuwa Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa has appointed a committee headed by the Kegalle District Secretary to resolve land disputes regarding the Devanagala rock and surrounding buffer zone.
The committee has been appointed following a tense situation that arose during a meeting between area residents and officials at the Aranayake Divisional Secretariat on December 24.
The committee, headed by the Kegalle District Secretary, will comprise Government officials as well as representatives of the four villages in the area.
