In the wake of instructions issued to the Police to arrest riders with full face helmets, a committee has been appointed to discuss regarding the enforcement of this law, Police DIG Ajith Rohana said.
The attorney general had today (Jun 6) informed the acting police chief to arrest motorcycle riders with full face helmets under the emergency regulations.
DIG Rohana, in-charge of the Police Motor Traffic Branch, said the committee would convene and decide on how this regulations could be implemented.
He further noted that the committee would decide on whether it would be necessary to arrest such individuals after the Emergency Regulations are lifted.
