Providing solutions to the heavy traffic congestion along the Kaduwela – Parliament main road, a Light Railway Service will be implemented up to Pettah, the government news portal reported.
Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka was quoted by the portal as saying the feasibility studies and the acquisition of lands for this project are being carried out and construction work will commence by the end of next year.
The project is supported by the government of Japan.
