The National Action Committee established to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in Sri Lanka will convene today (27) for the first time.
The committee will convene at 5.00pm today (27) for a meeting presided over by Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi to discuss the Coronavirus outbreak and work on preventive measures.
A special meeting is scheduled prior to this at 11.00am at the Ministry of Health to set up a technical programme to advise the committee. This meeting will be chaired by Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe.
The National Action Committee was set up by the Health Ministry on the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
