President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Jul 30) said that the corruption and mismanagement in state institutions which are supposed to generate revenue for the government is no secret to the people.
Addressing an event held to mark the 80th anniversary of the Bank of Ceylon, the President pointed out that state banks are the primary strength for these institutions.
Mr Sirisena also noted that throughout his political career he has maintained a policy of strengthening state banks and not privatizing them under any circumstances.
