The Colombo High Court today (Jul 5) permitted Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila to travel to Australia in order to visit his children from July 7 to July 21.
Mr. Gammanpila has been acused of involvement in a fraudulent share transaction along with an individual identified as Sydney Jayasinghe.
The suspects have been accused of misappropriating Rs 21 million while selling shares of a company owned by an Australian national to local business tycoon Dhammika Perera between 1997 and 2000.
The Australian national, Bryan Haddick had filed a complaint against Mr. Gammanpila at the Polcie Financial Crimes Investigations Bureau.
The case which is being heard before Justice Dhammika Ganepla was postponed until October 30.
