A court today (Jun 24) instructed the Terrorist Investigations Department (TID) to submit a report on the tenth suspected employee of a copper factory owned by an Easter Sunday suicide bomber.
The order was issued when employee Karuppiah Rajendran Abdullah was produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage this morning. He was remanded until July 08.
Meanwhile, the TID informed court that investigations on the suspect were being carried out under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. Accordingly, court instructed the TID to submit a report on these investigation during the next hearing on July 8.
Abdullah was among the 10 employees of a copper factory owned by Shangri-La suicide bomber Ilham Ibrahim, who were arrested in the aftermath of the recent terrorist bombings. The other employees have been currently released on bail.
