Considering the current situation in the country where an island wide curfew is effective and government is focusing on efforts to prevent spread of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, a meeting with all political party leaders is scheduled to be held tomorrow at 10.00am at Temple Trees, Prime Minister’s Office said.
This would be a follow-up meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa recently with party leaders briefing them on the government efforts to tackle possible outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
During the last meeting, many party leaders urged the government to convene the Parliament immediately using the powers vested with the President to inform the public on government efforts.
