CPC instructs sheds to sell fuel at previous prices

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has instructed all CEYPETCO fuel stations to issue fuel at previous prices, though the Finance Ministry announced yesterday that fuel prices have been revised with effect from midnight yesterday. 

According to a Finance Ministry announcement yesterday, the price of a litre of 92 Octane Petrol went up by Rs.8 while a litre of 95 Octane Petrol increased by Rs.7, The price of a litre of Auto Diesel was increased by Rs.9 while Super Diesel went up by Rs.10. 

However, a CPC circular issued this afternoon instructed all fuel stations to sell fuel at previous prices. 

Meanwhile, the Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC), which also revised its prices yesterday after the Finance Ministry statement, has said it will continue to sell fuel at revised prices.
